Literature Text

The touch of your fingers were warm silk
against my shattered glass lying across the floor.
Jagged shards pricked your iron-fingers yet failed
to scratch their persistence.

Chip by chip, you glued me together like puzzle pieces
until you could see my face in that convivial magic mirror
-- broken pieces glued by Grace

For seven years I hung on your wall, I could see
your heavy heart; a boulder in your chest,
your tear stained eyes; soft retinal lakes,
and your torn soul; iron maimed into tissue
by his end.

For seven years my surface found light
in your muse - a pen that forever flowed,
a voice that never lost pitch
and a heart that never skipped a beat.

When I fell from that wall
I felt the gravity of your tempered grace;
in a blanket of love-filled space --
you helped me let go of those painful
glass-shattered memories.

Never forget how you re-built me into a window -
and never forget that:
When you feel cold and lost in desperation -
When you feel like failure's all you've known -
remember all the light and inspiration
and don't let go -- don't let go.
Inspiration taken from her cover of Linkin Park's "Iridescent". Hence the lyric blending. Cyndi has had a difficult time lately coping with the loss of her dear dog... I want her to know that she's cherished.

I'm going to do a recording of this too and post it on YouTube tomorrow.

This is just beautiful, Donny. The greatest gift a person could receive.
